Governing blue carbon finance
Enrolment options
Mangrove and other coastal blue carbon ecosystems are among the world’s most effective natural carbon sinks, playing a critical role in global climate change mitigation. Yet these ecosystems remain vulnerable to degradation, fragmented governance, unclear tenure arrangements, and volatile carbon markets.
This course is developed based on insights from the research conducted on the governance, policy, and capacity development needs in the E-Blue pilot project. The E-Blue project (2025–2026) was implemented by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (operating as Landscape Alliance).
